A book charting the history of Exmouth s lifeboats is to be released to coincide with the opening of the new RNLI boathouse in the autumn.

Across the Bar, has been penned by Alan Salsbury - who has carried out extensive research about the town's lifeboats.

All the royalties from the book will be donated to Exmouth RNLI.

Exmouth's Shanty Men yesterday sought public support when recording their third album.

The singers yesterday recorded their latest album live at Blackmore Theatre as part of Exmouth Festival.

All profits from the group's gigs and CD sales go to good causes.
