The leader of a scout pack in Exmouth is calling for more donations after a successful grand draw event.

The 7th Exmouth Scouts held the event at the football club, as it looks to raise nearly £3,000 for a trip to Bromsgrove Adventure Park, near Birmingham, in July.

Prizes were donated by Exmouth businesses, including Porky Down, Reynolds, and Lloyd Maunder Butchers.

The event raised £650 for the trip, while the Pain Trust, which provides financial assistance to boys and young men, donated £1,700. This leaves the scouts needing around £650.

Leader Ian Edgecumbe has called on the community to help them raise funds for the trip, as well as new equipment.

He said: “The evening was brilliant and I want to thank everyone for coming.

“The fact is that we could still do with donations of either equipment or money, as we are desperate to purchase new tents as ours are now very worn and old, to say the least.”

Anyone wanting to sponsor the scouts or donate new tents can ring Ian on 07791 715841.
