I write to express our thanks to Tesco in Exmouth, and their customers, for supporting the British Heart Foundation (BHF) collection that took place this month. We would like to thank them for supporting our lifesaving work and raising £372.67 this month for BHF. As a charity, we rely upon the kindness and generosity of members of the public to enable us to continue funding our essential services, which include investment in pioneering research, care for patients and their families, and the provision of vital information. Throughout June we have held collections all over the UK as part of our Help a Heart Campaign. BHF saves lives through pioneering research and Help a Heart Campaign is aiming to raise £1.5 million this month to continue the fight so that we can help save more lives.Without the help of our kind hearted supporters we could not help children like Cordilia, who was born with a congenital heart defect. Cordilia required open heart surgery at just a few days old, but thankfully has made a fantastic recovery and is now an energetic and healthy two-year-old with a cheeky infectious smile. Although the BHF is extremely grateful for the support we currently receive, we are still in urgent need of donations of time and money locally. You can help us beat heart disease by volunteering or making a donation through your local Exmouth branch by calling me, Christine Loman, on (01395) 225150.I would like to thank all of your readers and Tesco Exmouth once again on behalf of heart patients and their families for their fantastic support.Christine Loman,Secretary,British Heart Foundation,Exmouth & District Branch.
