THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED Exton Ball will not be part of this year's festival but spirits remain high for the weekend of fun.The annual Exton Festival, organised by volunteers, has been holding a festival ball since 2002 but the committee felt 'they needed a year of rest' and the ball has been replaced with a racenight at the village hall.The horseracing starts at 7pm, on Friday, July 4, with race-goers invited to bring their picnic hampers.On Saturday, July 5, there will be a traditional festival fete with barbecue in the Recreation Field at 2pm.It promises to be an afternoon of great fun with games, gift stalls, children's entertainment and competitions.Volunteers are still needed for the weekend.If anyone would like to volunteer or for more general information call Eileen Pratt on (01392) 877917.
