Children and pensioners came together for a special harvest festival at the Budleigh Salterton Health and Wellbeing Hub.

Youngsters from the Carousel Nursery and the Age Concern day care centre joined in with sing-alongs and dancing as part of the festivities.

The children from the nursery based at the hub visit the elderly guests once a day to read stories and join in with gentle exercise.

They also visit clients of the Memory Café, once a month.

Marc Jobson, manager of the hub, said: “This was a really special occasion and lots of fun for all those who attended.

“The children will continue to visit the day care centre and memory café where it is hoped stories will be shared and friendships will be made.”

Food donations to the harvest festival have resulted in a number of hampers for vulnerable people, with the rest of the food being given to food banks.
