PLANS to convert part of hairdressers in St Andrews Road, if passed by district planners, will not mean the closure of The New Creations Hair Salon in St Andrews Road.
In last week's Journal dated August 27 the story entitled 'Change Plan for Salon' on page 3 indicated that the owners of 42A St Andrews Road had applied to convert the address into a two-bedroom flat.
The plans were recommended for refusal by town planners last week and will now go onto be considered by district planners.
However even if the plans are passed against the town councils concerns, the owner of the hairdressers, Raymond Baxter, has confirmed that he business is remaining open. .
He added that while the application was at the same address, 42A St Andrews Road, the work if approved would take up 'only a few metres' of the hairdressers, and would not effect the business.
Councillors last week did accept in principle the plans if windows were added increasing the natural light as well as the provision of a refuse bin.
