Green fingered fans' open gardens treat

Fifteen stunning gardens in Otterton will be opened to the public later this month to raise money for local causes.

‘Otterton Secret Gardens’ is on Sunday, July 14 from 11am to 6pm and a fee of £5 admits one person to all the gardens.

The proceeds will go to Budleigh Salterton and District Hospiscare and the Otterton Church fund.

The gardens open will be: 7,The Green; Anchoring Cottage, Ottery Street; Bredon, Ladram Road; The Old Vicarage, Ropers Lane; Overleigh, Behind Hayes; The Old Station; Milson Cottage, Fore Street; The Barn, Ottery Street; 5 Dukes Close; Midhayes, Hayes Lane; Uphayes, Hayes Lane; Sheepscombe, Bell Street; Otter Hayes, Ladram Road; 3 Watering Court, Fore Steet and Anchoring Barn, Ottery Street.

Bruce Kennard-Simpson said: “The gardens look fantastic and we hope for good weather and great turnout for what are two very worthwhile local causes.”

Tickets will be available from any garden on the day and on the Village Green.

Lunches will be available at Otterton Mill and The Kings Arms with cream teas at Ladram Holiday Park .
