CELEBRITY swearing chef Gordon Ramsey will on Tuesday evening will be shown on Channel Four being put through his paces on Woodbury Common by Lympstone's Royal Marines.

The 41-year-old star recently spent time at the Commando Training Camp filming a feature for the channel's F-Word programme when he was invited to train with the troops.

The TV chef was at the camp to make a high energy low-calorie beef curry for the men.

When he was put through his paces, Mr Ramsey was given an unloaded SA80 assault gun to carry, trekked three miles and crawled through mud and water around the Marines' gruelling world-class assault course.

The gruelling course is a basic requirement of anyone wanting to wear the coveted Green Beret.

A Royal Marine insider said: "He was wrecked, but he did it."

* The F-Word is on Channel 4 at 9pm.
