An annual golf day has raised vital funds for a Budleigh Salterton school’s play and sports equipment.

The St Peter’s golf day, which was started by members of the church, took place earlier this year.

A number of golfers took part in the event, at East Devon Golf Club, which raised more than £500 for St Peter’s Primary School.

That money will go towards equipment aimed at encouraging youngsters to take up sport.

St Peter’s School pupils Yasmin and Sonny were presented with a cheque by the Reverend Ann Charlton.

Headteacher Steve Hitchcock thanked the golfers for their support.
