AN Exmouth couple is still dancing to the same beat together after 50 years of marriage.Janet and Peter Hall celebrated their golden wedding anniversary by gathering family and friends for a garden party this week, pictured, before they cruise off into the sunset in August on a Norway-bound liner.Love blossomed for the couple when gentleman Peter - a drummer at the Regal Ballroom, now Samantha's nightclub - would escort Janet home after dances.The drumming continues to this day, Peter now a member of the Accordionettes band, and annual volunteer on drums for Pavilion panto for the past 18 years.The couple married at Withycombe Parish Church before a double-decker ferried them and guests to the Feathers in Budleigh for a reception.Happily settled in Carter Avenue, 1959 saw the birth of son James, before twins Richard and Jayne arrived three years later. Janet, an active member at Exmouth Chapel, initially looked after the family, before stints as a cook at Marpool Primary, Exmouth Community College and Davey Court residential home. Marpool School continue to benefit from Janet's involvement with the lunch time club. Peter, a store manager at Lympstone Co-op after his stint on the company's mobile shop, later joined the tailoring department at Lympstone Commando Base, and was a regular face at the village sailing club. The couple, now grandparents, celebrated their big day on June 28.
