REGARDING your back page article last week entitled "Too young to play football?" It is all well and good saying it is all about enjoyment for the kids but, when coaches field only what they consider to be the strongest team, it leaves youngsters sitting on the sideline for whole games and sometimes whole tournaments. Where's the enjoyment in that?Additionally, how can a young player develop when he/she cannot get onto the pitch? At eight years old, surely it is all about development and not about results?
