A GERMAN family visiting Exmouth has issued a heartfelt plea appealing for the person who found their digital camera to hand it back.

Karin Wollemann, 66, from Braunschweig, Germany, lost the Canon Ixus digital camera on Sunday April 11 after accidentally leaving it behind at the Grove pub, on Exmouth seafront.

She said the camera was full of irreplaceable photos of a wedding the family attended during their week-stay in Exmouth.

Mrs Wollemann said the family returned to the pub the following day to see if their property had been handed in, but were devastated to find it had not.

She said the photographs on the camera had huge sentimental value.

"We feel very emotional that we have lost the camera," said Mrs Wollemann. "Our daughter spent three months staying with the friends who got married. She was invited to the wedding but because she has got a two-week-old baby, she couldn't go.

"She said 'take lots of photos' but now we have lost the camera.

"The camera cost a lot but the photos are the most important thing to us." If you have found Mrs Wollemann's camera, contact the Journal on (01392) 888507.
