A General Election hustings is being held in Exmouth.

The event, which is being organised by Churches Together in Exmouth, follows a successful hustings held in 2015.

This year’s event will take place at Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday, May 30, starting at 7.30pm, and running until 9.30pm.

Of the seven candidates who are standing for election in the East Devon constituency, the organisers say that Alison Eden (Lib Dem), Peter Faithfull (Independent), Michael Val Davies (Independent), and Claire Wright (Independent) will be attending.

Brigitte Graham (UKIP), Janet Ross (Labour), and Hugo Swire (Conservative) have told the organisers they will not be attending.

The organisers say candidates will be asked about key election issues, and also given a few minutes to speak about themselves.

The hustings will be chaired by the Reverend Canon John Philpott.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
