SCORES of people are expected to attend St Swithun's Church in Woodbury to pay their respects to former Exton councillor Ada Follett who died earlier this month.
Mrs Follett, who represented the Exton ward for around three decades, died in hospital on Thursday, October 1.
A funeral service will be held at St Swithun's Church today, October 14.
Councillor Philip Glanvill, chairman of Woodbury Parish Council, commended the work of Ada, who he said had given her time freely for the benefit of the communities she served.
He added: "She did this for many years. Ada was the most generous person and was very forthright with her views.
"She knew what was best for the people of the community and was an all-round fantastic person on the council.
"The fact she was on the council for so long says a lot because people kept re-electing her."
Woodbury councillor Reg Brown said: "What she has done in terms of her length of service to the council was quite outstanding."
Ada had worked as a church secretary and, as a supporter of the Royal British Legion, took an interest in regimental affairs.
Rev John Clapham, who worked with Ada, said: "She had her finger on the pulse regarding almost everything.
"She was on the ball at all times. As my secretary, Ada kept me up-to-date with things that took place in Exton and Woodbury.
"Nobody could wish to have had a better person to work with. She worked tirelessly for the church and for the whole community and was a fabulous person.
