An Exmouth teenager is appealing for funds to help her join a trip to build a school in Uganda.
Zoe Walsh, 13, is planning to join Mission His Way in Africa for two weeks next Easter, with Brixington Community Church, during which time she will help to complete a new school in Nakaseke District and deliver food parcels.
In order to join the trip she needs to raise 1,000 and, so far, she has raised more than half of that total through a charity walk, a car boot sale, a cream tea, and grants from Exmouth Rotary Club and the Adventure Trust for Girls.
Now Zoe, who attends Exmouth Community College, is appealing to local businesses to help her reach her fundraising target.
She said: “I want to go to Uganda because it has been something I have wanted to do for a long time and, as a Christian, this is something I feel that God wants me to do. “This will be a life-changing experience and I am really looking forward to the trip.”
