A family fun day event held at Lower Halsdon Farm on Friday was hailed a success by organisers.

Scores of children and their parents enjoyed the day, organised by the National Trust, which included a chance to meet farm owner Pete Renouf.

Rangers helped children fill scrapbooks with ‘50 things to do before they are 11 and three quarters’. Children also made grass trumpets, raced snails and took part in a ‘dodge the cow pat’ barefoot walk.

Ranger Suzie Robson said the response from the public had been very positive.

She said: “It was a fantastic afternoon with great helpers, lovely weather and lots of families getting stuck into 50-things-activities.”
