RESURFACING work on the A376 between Featherbed Lane and Amberside has begun - but highways chiefs have insisted traffic will not be delayed.County engineers have begun resurfacing part of the cycle way in a project that will take at least 'several weeks'.However, Phil Nichols, the east area project engineer for Devon County Council, said that the work will only affect short sections of the footways at any one time - and would not affect traffic flows through the summer season. He said: "I apologise for the short notice but, although the cycle way resurfacing has always been programmed for September, we are going to rekerb and resurface the footway in preparation."We have (also) been given some additional funding for the current year and are looking to resurface Dinan Way."He added that further details will be available once the full extent of the work has been assessed, including a start date.
