EXMOUTH'S inshore lifeboat was launched yesterday after a yacht got stuck in the river when it began letting in water.

It is thought the yacht owner had been carrying out some maintenance on the vessel when he accidentally knocked the sea cock, which let water into the boat.

The inshore lifeboat was tasked to assist the stricken vessel, which was eventually towed by a local boat to Topsham where it was believed to have been lifted out of the water.
