More than 120 external ‘key safes’ have now been fitted to the homes of pensioners in Budleigh Salterton free of charge.
Key safes are attached to the outside of homes and can only be accessed by a special code.
They allow people, who may have become absent-minded, carers, friends and family to enter their homes without compromising their security.
They have been paid for by Budleigh Salterton Lions Club and are fitted by welfare officer Alan Lowe.
He said: “I fitted four only last Tuesday. If anybody wants one, give me a call. They have proved very popular and are very useful for carers and relatives who want to let themselves in.”
To have key safe installed call Alan on: (01395) 443815.
