A FREE gift is up for grabs for those who on Saturday September 12 leave the car at home while visiting Exmouth's National Trust property, A la Ronde.

Admission to the property is free on that day and as the tourist attraction expects to be busy, visitors are being encouraged to use green transport.

The heritage open day is following the theme of 'treasure forever' and from noon until 4pm, pirate captain Jack Sparrow will be available for photo opportunities and to help visiting youngsters make treasure maps.

Visitors will also be able to make a light card, to measure the effects of sunlight on objects, and learn how the property cares for its treasures.
