The district council is looking for a new contractor to run its dog warden service for the next two years.
East Devon District Council (EDDC) is inviting tenders for a service that will include the collection of stray dogs throughout the district, and will also include the investigation of complaints about dangerous dogs and animal welfare.
The duties will also include enforcement of dog control orders including dog fouling and other dog control offences and inspections of boarding and breeding establishments.
Interested contractors must complete a pre-qualification questionnaire and demonstrate a sound financial, technical and operational capacity to perform the services.
Pre Qualification Questionnaires are available from the council’s website www.eastdevon.gov.uk/twoyeardogwardenservice.pdf, and all hard copies must be returned to Jill Wheller at East Devon District Council, Knowle, Sidmouth, EX10 8HL, not later than 5pm on Monday 22 July 2013.
Selected contractors will be invited to tender in early August 2013.
The council expects that the contract will start on 1 November 2013 and run for a period of two years.
