AN acre of gorse alight on Woodbury Common on Sunday afternoon prompted firefighters from Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Topsham to be called.
The fire service said the cause of blaze was believed to be suspicious.
The water foam carrier from Exeter, the hose laying lorry from Honiton, two hose reel jets and beaters were used to tackle the blaze.
