Fire fighters called out after Woodbury caravan fire

A fire involving the cooker in a towing caravan on a campsite at Castle Brake is believed to be accidental.

Fire crews were called out to deal with a caravan fire in Woodbury on Tuesday (July 11) afternoon.

Appliances from Exmouth and Middlemoor were mobilised to reports of a fire at a campsite at Castle Brake, in Woodbury, at around 3pm.

Crew members found the fire in the cooker or a towing caravan, was out when they arrived.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “The gas supply to the caravan had been isolated and removed prior to the arrival of the Fire Service.

“Fire crews checked the scene to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.”

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
