Firefighters from Exmouth visited Fernihurst Nursing Home to mark International Firefighters Day, giving residents the chance to look around a fire appliance.

Residents also got to examine firefighting equipment including protective clothing, a water pressure nozzle, breathing apparatus and hydraulic cutters.

Home activities leader Hazel Tribble said: “Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the local firemen. They loved seeing the fire tender up close and having a look at all their equipment and tools, it was a real eye-opener for them and for the team too – we all really enjoyed it.”
