GAS FEAR: Fire crews were scrambled following reports of a gas explosion in The Colony on Saturday, October 29.

Crews from Exmouth, led by Watch Commander Sturtivant, went to the home in Rosbery Road to find that a boiler was leaking water into the property.

There was no sign of any gas leak, but an appliance from Middlemoor with a gas detector on board was used as a precaution.

Crews isolated the water leak and a gas engineer was called out.

The boiler was severely damaged by the water leak. However, the gas detector confirmed there was no gas leak from the boiler.
