Fire crews called out to oven fire in Exmouth

Fire crews were called out to a property in Exmouth this morning (Monday, August 6).

Appliances from Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Middlemoor responded to a report of an oven on fire in Birchwood Road at around 11am.

When the Exmouth crew arrived it was found that the fire was already out. The appliances from Budleigh and Middlemoor were stood down.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews carried out an inspection to ensure the property was safe.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
