FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17 - Topsham fire fighters were called to attend a roof fire in Exeter city centre.

TOPSHAM fire fighters were called to attend a roof fire in Exeter city centre.

The Topsham fire crew joined three other crews in tackling a roof fire at the Woolworths department store, in the Guildhall shopping complex, which broke out at lunchtime on Thursday, October 16.

The building's roof was slightly damaged but the fire was largely contained by the sprinkler in the roof void, although it did leave the lower floors with water damage. The cause was believed to be accidental.
