A 20-strong group of fundraisers took a Sunday stroll in fancy dress – all to raise money for the FORCE charity.
Nicola and Tony Quinn led Team Direct, who were dressed up in St Patrick’s Day-themed attire, from The Park Hotel in Exmouth to the FORCE Support and Information Centre in Exeter.
The 10-mile hike along parts of the Exe Estuary trail on Sunday, March 8, could raise up to £1,000 after all the money has been counted.
“I’m glad we chose FORCE this time,” said Nicola, after she and her group had a tour of the support centre.
“My dad came here when he had cancer, but it’s the first time I’ve visited and it’s really great to see what the charity does.
“We’ll definitely be supporting FORCE in future.”
Since it was set up in 2009, Team Direct has raised more than £25,000 for local and national good causes.
FORCE fundraising manager Sarah Daniels was there to meet the walkers when they arrived in Exeter, tired but happy.
She said: “Everyone dressed up - the outfits were really fantastic. There was a great atmosphere in the centre when they reached the end.
“We cannot thank all of them enough for supporting their local cancer charity!”
