A free family activity day is being held at Exmouth’s Maer Local Nature Reserve.

A Maervellous Day on the Maer will take place on Friday, August 4.

The day will begin at 10am with a tai chi taster session and there will also be activities including bug hunting, rockpooling and natural crafts, along with stalls from organisations including the RSPB, Devon Loves Dogs and the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust.

Donations will be accepted by the different organisations to cover craft materials and activities.

East Devon District Council countryside trainee ranger Laura Goble said: “Exmouth is such a busy and vibrant town with lots of organisations working across the area to protect the beautiful countryside and coastal environment.

“A Maervellous Day on the Maer brings these groups together and families can drop in, find out more about them and have some fun.”
