Every year Exmouth Library takes part in the national Summer Reading Challenge, in which children read six books during the summer holiday and are rewarded with stickers, a medal and certificate, and a free finishers’ party.

Nearly 800 took part this year, more than ever, and the parties were held over two days at World of Country Life.

More than 900 children and adults attended, with the children seeing a show by entertainer Professor Bumble, and receiving congratulations from Exmouth mayor Brian Cole, before enjoying the rest of the park’s attractions.

Exmouth Library’s Holly Armstrong said: “World of Country Life has been extremely supportive of the challenge and incredibly generous in allowing so many local families to enjoy their facilities completely free of charge.”
