A consultation on plans for a watersports centre on Exmouth seafront begins this weekend.

Developer Grenadier will hold the first public consultation event on its plan at Ocean, in Queen’s Drive, on Saturday, October 21, between 9am and 5pm.

Further events will then be held at the same venue on Wednesday, October 25, between 9am and 5pm, and on Wednesday, November 1, from 5pm to 9pm.

The proposal is for the centre to host sports including paddle boarding, kayaking and kite surfing, with training and changing facilities, alongside an outdoor events space and eateries. The centre would be built on Queen’s Drive, forming phase two of East Devon District Council’s three-phase seafront redevelopment plan.

It would be built on a site currently occupied by the road, a car park and the former site of DJ’s Café, with the road to be moved north under phase one.
