From the War Journals: Making the news in the Exmouth Journal on this week in 1944.

Concerns have been raised that Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton come within the coastal area that is to see no relaxation of blackout restrictions. Some residents had already proceeded to get rid of their solid blackouts or remove the black edgings from their windows. But they will have to do something as blackout goes on for a time.

Crisis Clippings: Petty-Officer Joseph Back has leant through the press that he has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.

Advert: Burdall’s Gravy Salt -”It brings out the flavour!”

Found: A tabby female cat aged about six months. Apply Sprattshayes Farm, Littleham.
