The tri-sport group took part in a five or ten-kilometre run to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.

A group of tri-sport enthusiasts have raised vital funds for servicemen and women and their families.

Exmouth Tri-Hards, a group of women who want to take part in active challenges in a social environment, held their own run to mark Remembrance Day.

Members of the group took on the Royal British Legion’s My Poppy Run – with around 30 running either the five or 10 kilometre challenges.

They raised more than £300 for the Poppy Appeal which aims to support Servicemen and women and their families.

Tri-Hards leader Shelly Stammers said: “It was nice that we had such a turnout.”

The group set off from Premier Inn, in Esplanade before heading up towards Trefusis Terrace, along Douglas Avenue and Maer Lane.

They continued along the sea front and arrived at the Grapevine in Victoria Road.

The 10k group continued from there up the Exe Estuary trail to Lympstone before returning back to the pub for lunch.
