A WALKING treasure hunt will take place around Exmouth this month in aid of adults with learning disabilities.

The fun event will take place on Sunday August 16, from 2pm-3pm, from the Imperial Road Rugby Club.

The hunt takes between two and three hours and will raise funds for the Exmouth Gateway Club.

Entry is 10 per team, with a maximum of six people.

Treasure hunt organiser Carol Rowe said: "I normally organise car treasure hunts band this will be my first walking one.

"It is set to be brilliant fun with all sorts of things to discover along the route."

Exmouth Gateway Club is a social club for adults with learning disabilities.

Up to 70 members attend the weekly club, which is run by volunteers.

The volunteers also organise day trips and weekends away.

Ms Rowe said: "We are hoping to raise lots of money to help towards this year's holiday in Bournemouth.

"If anyone would like to join us, please do give me a call."

The route is wheelchair and pushchair-friendly.

There are a limited number of mobility scooters available free of charge to people registered disabled, which need to be booked in advance.
