Works to improve sewers in Exmouth to begin this month

Details of the £324,000 project to improve the sewers in the Brixington and Withycombe areas have been announced.

A six-figure scheme to upgrade the sewer network in parts of Exmouth starts this month.

South West Water will be refurbishing over 1,000 metres of sewer in Brixington and Withycombe Raleigh between from Tuesday, August 29, until December.

Work on the £324,000 project starts in Bassett Gardens in August, followed by Albany Close, Haley Close, Brooklands Road and Holland Road in September.

Sections of Partridge Road in Brixington will be closed to through traffic in phases between Monday, October 23, and Monday, November 20.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in use on Hillcrest Terrace and St John’s Road, between Monday, November 20, and Thursday, November 30.

Three-way traffic lights will be in use on Moorfield Road, from Monday, November 27, to Monday, December 4.

Project manager Andy Young said: “We will be working hard to minimise disruption to the public and businesses while completing these improvements.”
