Exmouth schools celebrate gardening competition success

Young gardeners from Exmouth schools are celebrating success in the annual Exmouth in Bloom local gardening competition.

A presentation held at competition sponsors Kings Garden and Leisure saw prizes presented to youngsters from Marpool Primary School, which won best garden overall and best vegetable garden, and Littleham C of E Primary School, which won best vegetable garden.

The children received vouchers, boxes of gardening goodies and items to encourage birds, wildlife and insects.

Prizes had been donated by Kings Garden and Leisure and Birds and Bees.

Exmouth in Bloom chair Gerry Bassett, who presented the schools with certificates, praised the young gardeners for their hard work and enthusiasm.

She added that she would also like to thank Kings Garden and Leisure for hosting the prize-giving event.
