Children’s television and book character Q Pootle 5 visited Withycombe Raleigh Primary School as part of a national competition.

Earlier this year, Withycombe pupil Chloe Dudman, seven, won a competition designed to encourage youngsters to have a greater interest in space, asking children to create a new friend for Q Pootle 5. Chloe won with her creation – Professor Fred.

The school was treated to a day of entertainment from Q Pootle 5 creator Nick Butterworth, including interactive shows.

Chloe said: “When I got to meet Nick Butterworth I felt a bit nervous and a bit excited too.”
