PUPILS at an Exmouth school bid farewell to their retiring headteacher by holding a picnic.
The event, organised by pupils and the parent teacher association at Bassetts Farm Primary School, on St John's Road, was in aid of Christine Jones who retires at the end of the academic year.
Bassetts Farm secretary, Kim Heys, said Christine had a fantastic time last Friday.
"She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a plaque to go on the new pre-school building which she had worked so hard to achieve.

"It was great that the building was completed before Christine had retired.
"More than 200 parents turned up to what was a great day. Poor weather had been forecast but it was so hot and sunny."
