A Littleham teenager is organising charity events in her bid to be named Miss England.
Brianna Evans, 17, of Lestock Close, who was crowned Miss Devon last month, needs to raise funds for ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ as part of the national competition.
She will be competing against more than 50 other girls from across the UK in an attempt to be named Miss England 2015.
She said: “I’m really excited - this is the next level and all the girls have been doing it for ages.
“It is a really hard competition – I just want to enjoy it more than anything.
“I’m thinking of doing some events in and around Exmouth to raise funds for the Beauty with a Purpose charity.
“It is a really good charity – it deals with all things in countries that do not get as many opportunities as us.”
The two-day Miss England event takes place on Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14, and will feature five rounds before the winner is announced.
The first round of the competition will encourage contestants to raise as much money as possible for the contest’s charity – Beauty with a Purpose.
Entrants will also be judged on their ability to model recycled outfits and asked to submit a two-minute video, displaying their best talent.
A sports challenge round will be held, with the best girl being fast-tracked through to the final 15.
The winner will advance to the Miss World competition to held in China later this year.
The ultimate decision will rest with a public vote and the polls have already opened at www.missengland.info/finalists-2015
Brianna has launched a crowd -funding page to help her raise cash for Beauty with a Purpose, which helps a number of children’s charities all over the globe.
