Exmouth’s Elaine pedals to raise funds for veterans’ assistance

An Exmouth woman has cycled the equivalent of 90 miles to fund assistance dogs for veterans suffering with stress disorders.
A community ambassador with the Halifax, Elaine Turner, of Bicton Place, ‘covered’ the distance between Exeter, where she works, and Weymouth on a static cycle.
The event, at Cranford Sports Centre, has helped to raise more than £5,000 for the Devon-based charity Veterans with Dogs.
Some £6,000 is needed to pay for a puppy’s first year of training.
The aim is provide an assistance dog to veterans suffering with conditions like post traumatic stress disorder, commonly known as PTSD.
