EXMOUTH'S community radio station Bay FM will be on air again during the Exmouth Festival.

Broadcasting on frequency, 107.9 FM, the station will be on air for 24 hours a day from May 18 - 31 2009.

The station is also streamed in real-time on the internet. (www.bayfm.co.uk).

A Bay FM spokesperson said: "Following three successful broadcasts in 2006/7/8, each of which generated massive popular support in the area, the station returns with a much enhanced programme schedule which will provide listeners with entertainment, information and hours of fun.

"This year for insomniacs, taxi drivers and other night workers, there will be programmes with live presenters even during the night hours, to say nothing of comprehensive core programmes during the day time starting with a new breakfast show from 6am."

From 6pm each evening there will be specialist live music programmes.

Saturdays feature an 'exceptional' programme completely devised, directed and produced by media students at Exmouth Community College.

There are specialist jazz and northern soul programmes on Sundays, as well as programmes dedicated to the older generation who will enjoy a trip down memory lane with the Sentimental Journey show, highlighting World War Two memorabilia.

A new show dedicated to the pirate radio days of the 60s and a new Sunday afternoon soft rock programme called Cruising in the Bay, will also hit the airwaves.

The Exmouth Festival strawberry jam session on the May 23 will be broadcast live from Manor Gardens.

The Bay FM spokesperson said: "The station plans to give as much publicity to festival events and participants.

"There will also be interviews with key figures and performers on the Tuesday and Wednesday evening gig guide show which promises even more great live performances from the studio this year.
