AN EXMOUTH gym has pledged to support a young kitesurfer as he continues to train and excel in the sport.
The Cranford Club, in Salterton Road, has offered to sponsor 13-year-old Oliver Bridge, the current European under 15’s Kitesurf champion.
The deal allows the youngster to take advantage of the gym’s facilities where he can build his strength, endurance and flexibility during the cold winter months when getting on the River Exe is more limited.
Over the last week, Oliver, an Exmouth Community College pupil, has been seen on the treadmill after school where staff have been useful in creating a programme for his needs.
Oliver is one of the many kiters who can be seen performing aerial tricks off Exmouth beach on any windy day and is pushed by his two younger brothers who are all keen to catch him up.
