Thousands enjoy Exmouth regatta in 'sun-kissed' conditions

Rowing clubs from across the region descended on Exmouth's 'sun-kissed' beach for a regatta on Saturday (May 5).
The event was the third leg of the South West Coastal Rowing League and saw Exmouth Rowing Club compete in a number of races.
Thousands of beachgoers and tourists were on hand to enjoy the competitive rowing on display in the waters off Exmouth.
The rowing club’s base, in Queen’s Drive, was also decked out in bunting, banners and a commemorative flag to mark the club’s 25th anniversary.
In the competition, Exmouth’s ladies teams finished third and fifth in the eight km race, while the men finished second and fifth over the same distance.
In the four km masters event, Exmouth finished forth and fifth, while in the mixed the town’s rowers finished second and fourth.
Exmouth’s rowers will now be heading to Torquay for the ‘Thatchers Rock’ regatta this Saturday (May 12).
