Exmouth Rowing Club’s refurbished boathouse has officially opened just in time for the summer.
The club has moved back into the old boathouse after years of operating out of an old portable building.
A £50,000 grant from Sport England allowed the club to refurbish the facility.
The opening ceremony was attended by club members, town councillors and government minster Hugo Swire.
Bill Nash, who officially opened the building, said: “The guys here have performed a small miracle.
“Everyone at the club should feel really proud of themselves - and everyone in Exmouth should feel equally proud to have a club of this standing in our midst.”
Rowing club chairman Graham Hurley paid tribute to Exmouth town councillors, who supported the club during lease negotiations. He said: “Today marks the end of a long journey. The learning curve has been beyond steep, but we’ve finally ended up with the building of our dreams.”
