Potential Chefs of the future displayed their talent during the Young Chef Competition held at Exmouth Community College.

Twenty-six students displayed their skills with a ranger of main course dishes. The winner and runner-up will be going forward to the area final next month.

The students were given two hours to produce a main course dish within a £5 budget. They had to plate up the dish twice, one for presentation and one for tasting.

Amber Arnold was judged the winner and her winning dish was goats cheese parcels, mango chutney, flatbread and lentil salad. She baked her own bread and made her own mango chutney.

Helena Stimson was runner-up with Scott Clarke taking third place.

Rotarian Sandy MacQueen presented the prizes on behalf of the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District who sponsored the event
