A 'rockpool ramble' held in Exmouth has proved to be among the highlights of a summer programme of events organised by East Devon District Council's (EDDC) countryside team.

More than 100 people are said to have attended the event, which allowed people to discover the wide variety of wildlife living around the rocks on Exmouth seafront.

In total more than 200 people took part in rambles organised by EDDC, with events also held at Ladram Bay and in Sidmouth.

The countryside team is currently putting together a programme of events for the winter months, including mud walks and wreath making.

The guide will be available in local libraries and tourist information centres from the start of October.

More information on events organised by the countryside team is available online at wildeastdevon.co.uk.

Some events require places to be booked in advance.
