Archant

Lifeboat volunteers had to be called out on Friday (October 30) after a woman lost control of her kite.

Exmouth RNLI launched at around 1pm after calls from a coastguard and the woman’s mother.

The female kitesurfer, from London, lost control 500 metres south of the lifeboat station, in Queen’s Drive, when the wind dropped in a strong ebb tide.

Crew volunteers were on the scene within four minutes and rescued the woman.
