Pensioners in Exmouth were treated to a three-course Christmas meal this week - courtesy of Franklins’ restaurant.
The Strand Gardens venue was fully booked for its second annual free meal for people aged over 65 on Monday, December 8.
“We thought it would be nice to put something on and it just grew from that,” said Jaquie Haywood, co-owner of Franklins.
The restaurant was fully booked for the meal, which included a choice of two soups for starter and a traditional Christmas meal followed by a choice of two desserts.
A choice of wine, beer or soft drink was also included, with St Austell’s brewery helping to provide the beverages again this year.
Jaquie said: “Everybody seemed to have a lovely time, and they were boisterous and cheeky as they can be.”
The restaurant also thanked Santa who turned up to chat with the pensioners.
