EXMOUTH'S firefighters, paramedics, the police and members of the public on Friday stood shoulder-to-shoulder in silent tribute for those who lost their lives in 2001during the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York's Twin Towers.
EXMOUTH'S firefighters, paramedics, the police and members of the public on Friday stood shoulder-to-shoulder in silent tribute for those who lost their lives in 2001during the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York's Twin Towers.
The annual remembrance service, in Phear Park, was led by reverend Tony Oswin to honour those who died when the towers collapsed.
Service organiser Lionel Howell said the service was well attended.
Paying their respects and laying a wreath on behalf of the town, and their own white roses, were Charlotte Tuckett and her sister Tara Corbett whose cousin, Steven Lawn, died in the attack when he was working in the south tower.
Wreaths were also laid by the police, fire service and paramedics.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sounded the fire engine's bull horn to mark the start of the two minute silence.
