EXMOUTH Quakers are presenting 'On Human Folly', a stage production by The Plain Quakers Theatre Company.

Arthur Pritchard and Mike Casey who form the two halves of the North Yorkshire theatre company seek to explore and promote debate on contemporary issues.

'On Human Folly' is based on the true story of two 18th Century Quakers, John Woolman and Samuel Galton. Woolman worked to abolish slavery, while Galton sold weapons to slave traders.

By taking a humorous, yet challenging look at environmental issues the two characters play out the historical storyline and switch during the show to become present day gents looking at consumerism, environmental damage and sustainability.

The performance is at the Blackmore Theatre, Bicton Street on Thursday, November 20 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are free. A retiring collection will be held.
